ALAN CUMMING LIVE

As the #NYC legend goes:

A pedestrian on Fifty-seventh Street, Manhattan, stopped Jascha Heifetz and inquired, "Could you tell me how to get to #CarnegieHall?"

"Yes," said Heifetz. "Practice!"

Practice and the support of good people has led me here. I would have photographed Carnegie empty, but Alan Cumming brought the Isaac Stern Auditorium alive and stirred up the history embedded in the The Ronald O. Perelman Stage. There is something very hallowed about the venue, it's awe inspiring to stand inside a concert hall made of dreams

and apex talent. Alan absolutely made Carnegie giggle and sigh.

Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Song's was a witty and charming #cabaret. It made you laugh, cry, think deeper, and sing along. Kristin Chenoweth and Ricki Lake joined him for several songs and nearly blew the roof off. There were countless moments I forgot I was working. Usually, I remember very little about the live performances I shoot. But this one really spoke to me. I used my lens cloth to wipe away tears at one point.

Don't be too sad if you missed it. Now Alan is touring with his new show Legal Immigrant. I had the pleasure of seeing it this past Saturday in #DC at the Kennedy Center. Clever mash-ups and flare galore, Alan of course, does not disappoint. In true Cumming style, you will be dazzled with candid story telling and hilarious confessions; then sent head-over-heels down a logical rabbit hole to face poignantly valid topics spotlighting our current social climate. After each nugget of wisdom, you don't want it to end, and he will remind you the last song

is never truly the last.

It was wonderful getting to chat with him again after the performance, and golly what a #selfie! Thank you again Alan for inviting me to capture and enjoy your wonderful shows. Getting to see the genius Lance Horn (Piano), the brilliant Eleanore Norton (Cello), and the savvy Christopher Jago (Drums) was icing on the gilded cake. What beautiful #music you make.

Alan live is a #MustSee for your show list, look up his tour schedule and find tickets. I

recommend taking a loved one that needs a fun night out.
